MEMORIES COOKBOOK

 

In November of 2000, Linda Starnes McLaurin, and Caryl Crawford Branch organized a 

monthly luncheon get-together consisting of former Istrouma High School classmates

to cheer Kandi Boothe Prejean, who was undergoing cancer treatment.  Kandi is now

doing fine.  We have grown to an average of twenty-five to thirty people attending.

Kandi named us "The Squaws".   We now have a four page newsletter entitled "SMOKE

SIGNALS From the Istrouma High School "CLASS OF '60 SQUAW PARTY" that goes out to

approximately 130 former classmates. 

This year we decided to create a cookbook to fund the publishing expense of our

newsletter, website, and other projects.  We included old photos, memorabilia, and stories

 of our school days from elementary through high school.  And, of course, several of our

favorite recipes.  The cookbook is spiral bound with a clear plastic cover.  It was a great

success at our 45th reunion.  The cost is $12.00 (plus $3.00 shipping if required).
